Scarlett Bird was established in 2011 by Melissa Aitchison (me!) in Adelaide. Originally I made soy candles, however I stopped stocking candles at the end of 2017.
I then started experimenting with polymer clay earrings, and launched in August 2018. I love using polymer clay as my medium, it's range of colour is amazing, and who wants a world in black and white! I used to make beaded jewellery many years ago, and I love to experiment with combining beads and polymer clay. I think the combination creates a delicate earring, perfect for day or evening wear. You can find my earrings at my stockists listed here.
In January 2019 I launched made to measure clothing. I have been dressmaking for myself for years, I also have industry training at TAFE SA, and have learnt the Sitam method for drafting. I don't use sizes when drafting, and pride myself of being inclusive of all sizes! I am totally happy to work with you and always available for questions. I now have all my clothing available in standard sizes, and I run from sizes 6 - 24!
There are many other things that I also love to do including knitting and crochet, who knows where Scarlett Bird Handmade could go in the future!
Enjoy, and stay colourful ;)
